1. Agreement
By accessing clan.me (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Clanme Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “our”).
2. What clan.me does
clan.me is a public directory and analytics platform for Minecraft servers. We poll servers using the Minecraft Server List Ping (SLCP) protocol, the same public protocol used by every Minecraft client, to collect player counts, player names, and server metadata. We display this data on public server pages and aggregate it for analytics charts, embeddable widgets, and map screenshots where available.
Server owners may also connect their server using the clan.me Paper plugin (“Plugin”). When installed, the Plugin sends periodic heartbeat data to our ingest service, including session events, performance metrics, and optionally the server’s installed plugin list. Plugin-connected servers receive a richer analytics dashboard in return. See Section 3 for owner responsibilities when using the Plugin.
Server owners may create an account, add servers to their dashboard, configure alert settings, and manage team access via the owner dashboard.
3. Server listings and owner responsibilities
By submitting a server, you confirm that you are authorised to list it and that the information you provide is accurate. You are responsible for ensuring your server’s public player list (if enabled) complies with applicable laws, including data protection laws, for your own players.
Plugin tier. If you install the clan.me Plugin on your server, you additionally confirm that:
- You are authorised to install the Plugin on the server and to send heartbeat data (session events, performance metrics) to our ingest service.
- You understand that the Plugin automatically displays an in-game notice to every player who joins your server, informing them that session data is sent to clan.me and linking to the player opt-out page. You must not disable or circumvent this notice.
- Your server’s installed plugin list is included in heartbeat data by default. To opt out, set
expose_plugins: falsein the Plugin configuration. You accept responsibility for ensuring that sharing this information with clan.me is appropriate for your server’s configuration.
We reserve the right to remove any listing at any time, including for violations of these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, or at the request of law enforcement. Removal requests are processed within 5 minutes. To request removal, email abuse@clan.me.
4. Player data
Player usernames and UUIDs are visible in server pings and are broadcast publicly by the server. We collect, store, and display them as part of the Service.
For servers connected via the Plugin, we additionally collect session data: join and quit times, session duration, and a new-versus-returning flag derived from prior session history. The Plugin displays an in-game notice on every player join informing players of this data collection and linking to the opt-out page.
Players may request removal of their identifying data from our platform at any time via the opt-out page. Opted-out players are anonymised across all public-facing views. Session records for opted-out players are retained in aggregate form only (identity fields replaced with “Anonymous”) so that server analytics totals remain accurate.
We do not sell player data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to submit false or misleading information, abuse our polling or ingest infrastructure, circumvent opt-out protections, or violate any applicable law. Full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy.
6. Intellectual property
clan.me is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang Studios or Microsoft Corporation. “Minecraft” is a trademark of Mojang Studios. Server names, icons, and descriptions remain the property of their respective owners. We display them solely to facilitate server discovery and accept no intellectual property liability for user-submitted or publicly broadcast content.
7. Children (COPPA)
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal data through this Service, please contact us at abuse@clan.me and we will delete it promptly.

8. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, data accuracy, or completeness. Player counts and online status reflect poll or heartbeat results at a point in time and may be stale. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to £50 or the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
9. Governing law

10. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be noted by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
